ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The orchestras at Cheltenham, Glenside, & Wyncote Elementary Schools are composed of fourth and fifth graders who play string instruments. Students are pulled for a half hour small group lesson once every week, as well an orchestra rehearsal in preparation for performances.

Any fourth or fifth grade student regardless of musical background can elect to play an instrument. If your child is not enrolled in the orchestra program and would like to be, please feel free to contact me.

About Mr. Conte

Mr. Conte began directing the Cheltenham, Glenside, & Wyncote Elementary School Orchestras in 2025 when the string program was expanded to include 4th and 5th graders to suit the newly configured K-5 elementary schools. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from West Chester University and has been a string player since he himself was an elementary school student. Other musical endeavors include singing and playing various instruments with his fellow musicians and friends in Montgomery and Bucks Counties.

When Mr. Conte is not tuning violins, fixing cellos, or planning concerts, you can find him at home enjoying a book, cooking, or seeing a Broadway show or concert in Philadelphia or New York City.
